Our company is looking for a Senior Logistics Manager able to accompany the company in its expansion. The Entity is planning to change the local distribution scheme with the aim to implement a more efficient Local Distribution Center (LDC). The Sr. Logistics Mgr. has negotiation skills and a full understanding of the entire supply chain. He ensures that all logistic operations – upstream and downstream flows and warehouse are key drivers for omni-channel approach.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management
- Assist in the preparation of estimates for the new Local Distribution Center project
- Lead the project in planning the successful execution of tasks on time and within budget
- Manage equipment procurement in collaboration with the Third Party Logistic (3PL)
- Regularly visit project site and monitors quality, security, costs and risk management according to company standards, insurance requirements and schedule
- Guide on technical aspect and liaise with functional teams (stores, e-commerce, operations, …) for problem solving
- If necessary, coordinate with Local / Regional IT to ensure a proper integration of our legacy supply chain system and the 3PL Warehouse Management System (WMS)
General Operations
- Liaise with Stores, Head Office, Central Logistics team, Product departments (metiers) and logistic partners: Custom Broker, local delivery company, bonded warehouse.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods: receipt, unpacking, controlling, pricing, labelling, storage, picking, repacking, dispatch of goods
- Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
- Have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Keep stock control systems (Cegid) up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
- Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures following Group requirements
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation and Group requirements
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Support the activities of 1 or 2 internal events and 1 customer sales every year – including planning and organising of each sale
- Plan, prepare and manage annual Stock takes and regular cycle counting over the year – with the objective of keeping shrinkage as low as possible
- Follow and monitor the legislation changes, with reference to packaging, labelling and certification requirements
- Ensure the Distribution Center structure, processes, and IT systems support the omni-channel services with a seamless product flows between e-commerce stock and physical stores stock
- Liaise and negotiate with the stores, e-stores and 3PL to improve the outgoing flows by adapting frequency or defining new shipping methods
- Ensure security and safety measures in the Distribution Center and in the different flows are in line with local regulations, requirements of our Insurance company and Group security policies
- Regularly audit the security and safety measures and process adherence to Group policies
Budget
- Plan future capacity requirements
- Prepare annual budget and revision
Team management
- Organise the recruitment and training of the staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
- Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Ensure Sustainable Development (SD) initiatives are implemented in the Distribution Center to reduce carbon footprint of our logistic activities
- Ensures the Distribution Center can facilitate green services initiative
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Numeracy and an understanding of finance
- People management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain concepts
- Strong planning and organising skills
- Able to work as part of a team, to inspire, motivate and lead a team of people
