The Merchandising & Marketing manager will be in charge of both marketing and buying activities for DOS stores. Support the overall business and brand objectives for our brand in Korea.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing

  • Lead and develop brand marketing strategy and annual brand marketing & PR action plan
  • Study market opportunities, competition, brand portfolio and margin pool analysis for brand expansion – Develop and monitor various consumer researches and retailer surveys
  • Lead brand Marketing campaign with alignment with regional marketing & PR team
  • Make media communication strategy and action plan for our brand
  • Anticipates future trends to engage youth consumers
  • Crafts a vision for what the brand / category / market could be
  • Demonstrates judgment to define a compelling core creative idea
  • Understands how to utilize marketing assets and strategic alliances to create stronger connections w/ customer
  • Deploys discipline and process to improve impact and speed to market
  • Make media communication strategy and action plan for our brand

Merchandising

  • Achieve assigned goals and objectives including gross margin, sales and total inventory turn for the assigned merchandise category
  • Select and purchase merchandise inclusive of timing, delivery, sizing and mix with a view to maximizing and driving the business
  • Work closely with the Merchandise Planning team to manage plans for stock levels, react to change/demand and logistics, reorders, cancellations, redirections and transfers.
  • Create and implement plans to maximize gross profit by coordinating sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, cost of promotion and markdowns
  • Ensure open communication with Store Managers on a consistent basis regarding hits or misses for all product categories, thereby given the ability to react and analyze appropriately
  • Perform competitive research and analysis to illustrate both strengths and weakness’ of products in all markets
  • Degree holder in Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Must be fluent in Korean and English both written and spoken, additional Asian Languages would be an advantages
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have at least 10 years previous experience working within a Luxury Fashion Company in a similar role in Korea market
  • Strong creative ability to develop innovative ideas in the luxury fashion sector.
  • Be able to demonstrate this in the implementation and planning of marketing strategies and advertising production
  • Excellent all round marketing and brand development to implement strategic projects
  • Understanding and interest in fashion, culture, art; ability to interpret trends.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work on more than one project at a time and to interface with different departments internally as well as externally
  • Ideal to have experience and awareness of social media and on-line strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Media contacts beyond the fashion and accessory editors to include publishing, business entertainment.
  • Experience of working with and have an in depth knowledge of the following product categories Footwear, Handbags, Accessories and preferably Eyewear
  • To have highly developed and proven analytical skills
  • To be proactive in terms of finding opportunities to grow the business and be reactive to changes within the markets.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales turnover
  • To have an acute understanding of trends and competitors
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills with proven ability to develop and manage team.
